In loving memory of the late Hannah Dashiell

The Bellingham Brain Cancer Walk was the inspiration of Hannah Dashiell, whose grandfather Jerry Jerowski, died of brain cancer in 2007.  Hannah did not get to see her dream to completion. In early January 2014, a tragic car accident took Hannah’s life. Her fellow classmates, family friends, and members of the community have taken it upon themselves to see Hannah’s dream brought to completion. The 2017 walk is a tribute to Hannah’s life and an honor to her family. Part of Hannah’s vision for the Bellingham Walk is that it would become an annual event for the city of Bellingham. It is our hope, too, that this walk would continue to be a tribute to Hannah and her family, a service to the community of Bellingham, and an event to support the research to find a CURE.

Supporting the Bellingham Brain Cancer Walk and Hannah’s Vision

When you support the BBCW and Hannah’s vision, you make a substantial impact on those who are diagnosed with brain tumors. 80% of brain tumor patients are not treated at a brain tumor institute and or a brain tumor specialist; often times not receiving clinical trials as first treatment. Gifts given to the Bellingham Brain Cancer Walk directly support the EndBrainCancer Initiative’s patient navigator positions, resources needed at the call center, brain tumor disease education and awareness, and patient advocacy at the policy level.

This year's Walk will include a BEER GARDEN featuring craft beers from Boundary Bay Brewery.

FAQ: Tips for Creating Your Team

Q. How do I create a team?
1. Elect a "team captain" to register an account here. You will need to verify your e-mail and you will receive an email with a link to complete your registration.
2. Create a new fundraising activity! Enter a team name and make sure "No passcode. Anyone can join my team" is selected for easiest access to others wanting to join your page.
3. At the "team captain" dashboard you can: edit/design your team fundraising page, view your team page, email friends and family, promote your team page on social media, view your progress, and manage your team.

Q: How do I join a pre-existing team?
Follow the provided team link, scroll to the bottom of the team page, and click "Join as member!".  Register and/or sign in to your account and the next page will ask you to join the team - easy!

Q: How do I log back in?
Follow this link: HERE and log in with your username (your email) and the password you designated. If you are prompted to "create" a new team when you have already made one, click "cancel" at the bottom and you will be redirected to your dashboard or asked to specify which project/activity you want to view.

Q: If I donate $25 to my team, am I registered?
No, donations and registration to attend the walk are separate. At the top of your team page, you can "click here to donate" or "click here to register for the event". Register by May 1st to receive a free t-shirt!

Q: How do I invite others to view the team page?
Three options:
1. On the dashboard, select "email friends and family" to send out emails that you write yourself or use one of the predesigned templates!
